After 18 years, Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains’ President and CEO, Jim Barclay, will step down at the end of June 2019. The agency’s Vice President of Refugee and Community Services, James Horan, will succeed him as President and CEO.
Horan joined LFSRM in 1999 and is a highly respected national leader in refugee and immigration legal services, with a proven record of developing strategies, building partnerships and securing resources to carry out programs under his direction. He has worked with multiple communities throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and the Rocky Mountain region which included establishing the first LFSRM programs outside of Colorado.
In addition to his work with refugees and immigrants, he has also excelled at developing and leading multi-year disaster responses to major and federally declared disasters involving hurricanes Katrina and Rita, wildfires, tornadoes and floods. His breadth of experience in leading through crises, program development in multiple states, and working across many levels of local, state and federal government, uniquely prepares him for leading LFSRM.
Barclay and Horan are working closely together with LFSRM’s executive team and Board of Directors to ensure the agency’s strong momentum and impact continues throughout this transition.
