Sleepless nights, camping trips, bedtime stories, smelly diapers, neighborhood games of capture the flag, temper tantrums, endless hours cheering at sporting events and recitals… we want it all! We are very excited about the prospect of raising a child. Just as our parents are a foundation for us, supporting your child’s dreams, imagination, and efforts will be our top priority.
Our story began as neighbors while finishing college in Durango, CO. We started dating in 2004 and since then our life together has included many adventures in Costa Rica, the Pacific Northwest and, of course, Colorado. After we were married on a summer afternoon with our closest friends and family in 2010, we decided that living near family in sunny Colorado was the next step. We returned to southwestern Colorado with the intention of starting a family.
Alli is an elementary teacher and Jamie is a program coordinator for a non profit organization. Living near the mountains, forests, and rivers gives us a special ability to do lots of outdoor activities like hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, rafting, and fishing – to name a few. Getting outside for fun adventures is a big part of our lives – and we cannot wait to add to our family to share in the joy of Colorado mountain living!
Why did we decide to become adoptive parents? When we were faced with the reality that having a biological child was not likely, the decision to begin the adoption process sprouted up in a very natural way. We will raise a child in an open, honest, and loving family. We promise to love unconditionally and we commit to communicating with you at the level you are comfortable with. We feel strongly that the child entrusted into our care will have a strong connection with their identity, birth family, heritage, and cultural history. We would be thrilled to welcome you and your child into our lives.
We admire your strength and courage as you consider this important decision. Our view on adoption is that as a couple, we will be traveling along the adoption path with your child and you – all of us – together.
It is with open hearts that we wait – grateful for your consideration. We wish you the very best today and always.
