The Board of Directors of Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is comprised of up to 18 members, half of which are appointed from the Rocky Mt. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA); and the Rocky Mt. District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) combined. The remaining members generally include other representatives of communities in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

The Board meets quarterly to conduct the business of the corporation. Terms of office are three years with the possibility of serving a maximum of two terms.
